Internation ADR India 2008

APRAG Conference 2009
- Seoul, Korea, 21-23 June 2009
22 October 2008 - Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group Conference 2009 will be co-hosted by Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) and Korean Council for International Arbitration (KOCIA). It is anticipated that 300 or more delegates coming from many different countries are expected to attend this conference. While featuring commonality and divergence of national and regional arbitration practices in Asia, this conference will attempt to define ¡¥Best Practices of International Arbitration for Asia¡¦ and discuss desirability and feasibility of adopting them. With the participation of representatives of transnational and regional arbitral institutions and leading international arbitration practitioners, the APRAG Conference Seoul 2009 will be an excellent occasion for lawyers and corporate executives in charge of legal disputes to share and explore knowledge of international commercial and investment arbitration together with other forms of alternative dispute resolution in the region.

Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration - Kuala Lumpur, 1-14 June 2008
11 April 2008 - The Malaysian and Australian Branches of the Chartered Institute will copresent
the Diploma Course in International Commercial Arbitration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For
the past two years the course has been run by the Australian Branch in Sydney at the University of
New South Wales and at the offices of major Sydney law firms. This year will be the first time that the
course has been run outside of Australia with the intention of attracting more participants from South-East Asia who will be spared from making the long air flight to Australia.

Bidding for APRAG Conference 2008
18 January 2008 - All APRAG Member Organisations are cordially invited to consider apply to host the next biennial APRAG Conference (Conference). As to the Conference date, it can be fixed by potential interested Members provided that they have sufficient time to organiser the event. However, the preferred Conference date should be ideally be within the period of December 2008 and February 2009, before the APRAG Annual General Meeting.
Should your organisation wish to consider to be the next host, please complete and return the application form, together with supporting documentation (if any) on/before Friday, 15 February 2008 to the APRAG Secretariat by email secretary@aprag.org.

HKIAC Boosts Mainland Ties with New Hire
18 January 2008 - The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Liu Jing as Deputy Secretary-General with effect from 1 February 2008.
Mr. Liu's new position will be in charge of Mainland Affairs.
